About Finbreast

Welcome to the Finnish Breast Cancer Consortium

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Finland, with approximately 5,000 new cases diagnosed annually. Despite advancements in early detection and treatment, breast cancer continues to pose significant challenges, emphasizing the critical need for focused research and innovative solutions.

At the Finnish Breast Cancer Consortium, we are united by a shared mission: to tackle the most pressing scientific questions in breast cancer biology. Our research focuses on the fundamental mechanisms behind disease progression, from breast cancer initiation to metastasis. We investigate how specific oncogenes drive tumor growth and explore new strategies to disrupt these pathways.

The outcomes of our research will help to resolve the complexities of breast cancer progression, identify new therapeutic opportunities, and improve outcomes for patients in Finland and beyond.
